Children's Advocacy Center of Greater West Texas

A coordinated response when a child needs help

The Children's Advocacy Center of Greater West Texas connects protection, recovery and family support.

The Short Version

A San Angelo nonprofit combining child advocacy, therapy, family support and abuse prevention across the Concho Valley.

Several services, one child-centered purpose

The Children's Advocacy Center of Greater West Texas works toward safe, nurturing homes for children in the Concho Valley. Its programs cover several points in a family's experience, from prevention and caregiver support to the response after a child discloses abuse.

Hope House provides forensic interviews, coordination and related services for children and non-offending family members. Therapy services address trauma and other emotional or behavioral concerns. Its CASA program trains volunteers to advocate for children in foster care, while family services and education extend the work into households and the wider community.

Supporting continuity

The value of this structure is the opportunity to connect services that a family may otherwise encounter separately. Child advocacy, therapy and family support address related needs through different kinds of professional and volunteer involvement. Prevention and education widen the mission beyond a response to an individual crisis.

Chief Executive Officer Justin DeLoach and Community Engagement Program Manager Lauren Bell are among the organization's leaders. Supporters can contribute financially, volunteer, give monthly or organize community fundraising. Those avenues connect philanthropy with a continuing local resource for children and families, sustaining both the response when help is urgently needed and the work of strengthening families over time.
