East Texas Food Bank
Feeding a region through its own communities
East Texas Food Bank supports the local organizations that make food assistance reachable.
The Short Version
A regional food bank supporting pantries, resource centers and nutrition programs throughout East Texas.
A network spread across East Texas
East Texas Food Bank supplies more than 200 food pantries and feeding programs across a 26-county service area covering nearly 20,000 square miles. Those partners include soup kitchens, shelters and other nonprofits. The regional warehouse and local pantry are parts of the same effort: securing food at scale and making it available close to the people who need it.
The organization also lists resource centers in Tyler, Longview, Lufkin and Texarkana. These sites give the regional network a visible presence in several East Texas communities.
Different needs, different access points
Children's programs include backpacks, afterschool meals and summer food. Senior boxes, nutrition education and benefits application assistance address other needs that can accompany a tight household budget. This range makes the food bank's work relevant throughout the year, beyond a single holiday drive.
Chief Executive Officer David Emerson and Chief Development Officer Tim Butler lead the organization. Donors can contribute through individual gifts, monthly giving or corporate partnerships. Support reaches an institution designed to connect the scale of regional food sourcing with the familiarity of local assistance. The range of programs also recognizes that children, older adults and other households encounter different barriers to dependable nutrition.
