A life, recovered
Ronny Birdwell
A remembered landscape

Vaughan as a point of reference
Ronny Birdwell is Clayton’s maternal great-uncle. In the published Hill County field story, his recollections help Clayton understand the older family landscape around Vaughan and Aquilla.
He remembers worked-stone points being found across that country. His account connects an object still held by the family with a place remembered through the people who knew it.

The collection and the story
Family custody attributes the framed point collection to Papa Birdwell. Ronny’s recollections are preserved as oral history alongside that attribution.
The individual pieces’ makers, dates and find locations have not been established. The family recollection is valuable without turning it into an unsupported archaeological identification.
