A life, recovered
Willie Pritchett
Coins for a Dr Pepper
01
The uncle Gia remembered
Gia remembers Big Mama’s brother Willie as playful and generous with the children. He mowed yards and would give them a nickel or dime for a Dr Pepper.
That small exchange gives the family a view of how he moved through an ordinary day: working, joking with children and buying a little pleasure he knew they would enjoy.

02
Willie, distinctly
During the September 2026 family-history trip, Gia clarified that Uncle Willie and William H. “Bill” Pritchett, Uncle Billy, were different brothers.
The distinction stays with the account. Willie’s recollection belongs to him, while the separate cemetery record and name of Uncle Billy belong to another person.
